(single-handed Transatlantic Race). Result: 17th overall

June '98 - Round Britain and Ireland Yacht Race on an Open 50ft yacht.
Double-handed with David Rowen. Result: 1st in class

November '98 - Route du Rhum. Single-handed, transatlantic in an Open 50ft monohull
Result: 1st in class

1999
January '99 - Won BT/YJA Yachtsman of the Year Award.
May '99 - Tour de Bretagne race in 32ft Figaro Beneteau 'Kingfisher'
June '99 - Round Europe race in an Open 60ft. Result: 1st in monohull class
August '99 - Fastnet Race in 60ft trimaran 'Kingfisher'. Result: 4th Multihull
November 1999 - Transat Jaques Vabre with Yves Parlier Result: 6th

2000
March - May 2000 - Delivery of 'Kingfisher' from New Zealand
June 2000 - Europe1 New Man STAR Result: 1st monohull
Nov 2000 - Feb 2001 - Vendée Globe Race. Result 2nd

2001
May 2001 - Challenge Mondial Assistance, teamed with Alain Gautier
on 'Foncia-Kingfisher', a 60 foot trimaran. Result: 1st
3 July-25 August - EDS Atlantic Challenge. Result: 1st place overall
4th November - Transat Jacques Vabre. Result: 2nd
